A butterfly lays eggs on a leaf. A caterpillar hatched from an egg. The caterpillar grows up and changes into a chrysalis. After a while the chrysalis opens and out comes a butterfly.

Ask your child to place each picture in the correct order.

You can use felt to make a leaf and a cocoon so your child can play, making the caterpillar becoming a butterfly. You can also use this when reading the very hungry caterpillar.
