Forests
A forest is an area of land dominated by trees.
Forest food chain:
Here is a typical food chain: The fox eats the rabbit and the rabbit eats the carrot and some plants. Every pieces of this chain are important. What if the fox disappears; the rabbit will multiply and eat all the plants.
In the eagle food chain for example, if one removes snakes, the eagle will disappear because it has no more food. Then eventually, there will be too many frogs, and as a consequence the grasshoppers will disappear and the grass will go wild. Of course this is a simplified explanation, but the idea is for the kids to understand that every animals has an important place.
